Mathew has over 20 years' experience in the insolvency and reconstruction sector including 12 years with the "big 4 global accounting firms" in Melbourne, Perth and overseas. More recently Mathew has worked in smaller firms where he has honed his skills in ensuring that directors, their accountants and lawyers negotiate with both secured and unsecured (trade) creditors fully aware of their options and the associated risks.
Career Highlights and Key Expertise
Mathew's industry expertise is diverse; from managing the operations of mining companies, aged care facilities, chemical and components suppliers to agricultural machinery dealers, metal fabricators, retailing and property management.
He has assisted directors and other stakeholders in successful advisory appointments, from the workout of a listed investment bank with over $1.0 billion in assets to managing favourable supplier relationships for a major automotive OEM.
In the personal insolvency area Mathew has assisted numerous individuals in negotiating Personal Insolvency Agreements (Part X) with their creditors and acting as Trustee in Bankruptcy should the debtor not be in a position to offer a compromise proposal. Mat comes from a very busy household with his wife and 3 daughters, all of whom support North Melbourne. Mat enjoys attending a game of footy - whether it be the Roos, Sandringham or St Bernard's OCFC. He also enjoys a very casual game of golf when he gets a chance.
